Abstract
Child-Friendly Schools (SRA) were born because of two major mandates, namely because of the State's obligation to provide children's rights as stated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child which was established in 1990, as well as the mandate from Law Number 23 of 2003 concerning Protection in article 54 The concept of child-friendly schools must consider the situation of schools that provide vital character education, are safe, clean and healthy, caring and cultured, environmentally friendly, able to guarantee, fulfill, respect the rights and protect children from violence, discrimination and other unfair treatment. , as well as ensuring children's participation in planning, policies, learning, supervision, and complaint mechanisms related to providing children's rights and protection in education. Violence in the school environment will have a significant impact on children. This violence can occur due to several factors, namely individuals, families, and schools. Then, it is estimated that 246 million children and teenagers experience violence and bullying at school every year. By previous descriptions, UNICEF estimates that nearly 1 billion children worldwide aged 2 to 14 years have experienced violence such as corporal punishment. Meanwhile in Indonesia, based on data from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission, the level of violence in schools is 84% with a ratio of 7 out of 10 students. So schools need to create a child-friendly school environment to ensure student welfare.
