Abstract

A welding workshop is one of the informal industrial businesses whose production activities can generate noise that puts workers at risk of hearing loss. The noise that occurs in a welding workshop can be caused by one of its activities, namely iron cutting activities. If workers do not use ear PPE, the hearing loss will get worse. noise for 8 hours of work per day is 85 dBa, the average time intensity received by workers without causing disease or health problems is not more than 40 hours or 8 hours a day. Non-audiotory complaints can cause psychological, physiological, and communication disorders. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of hearing loss in welding workshop workers in the Kusumodilagan area of Surakarta. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. to determine the description of hearing loss in welding workshop workers in the Kusumodilagan area of Surakarta. The sample in this study amounted to 44 workers. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The results of the measurement of hearing loss in respondents using audiometry obtained the results of right ear hearing loss in the highest welding workshop workers with mild category there were 27 people (61.4%). While the results of the level of left ear hearing loss in welding workshop workers with mild category were 21 people (47.7%)
