Abstract
Doubts about career decision making are still found among students due to several factors. Self-efficacy and high self-determination are expected to reduce doubts in making career decisions. The gap in individual-parent career expectations can determine students' career decision making. Individuals and parents need to be aligned in choosing a career so that students do not hesitate to make career decisions. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between self-efficacy, self-determination and the gap of individual-parent career expectations with high school students' career decision-making doubts. This study uses a quantitative approach with correlational techniques. The results of the regression analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between self-efficacy, self-determination, the gap between parents' individual career expectations and career decision-making doubts obtained from F count = 53.144 with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.01), with R = 0.545. This means that self-efficacy, self-determination and the gap in career expectations of individuals and parents together determine the uncertainty of career decision making. The effective contribution obtained is 29.7%, the remaining 70.3% is the influence of other variables outside the research variables. The partial correlation results obtained that there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and career decision-making doubts, there is a significant negative relationship between self-determination and career decision-making doubts and there is a significant positive relationship between individual-parents career expectations gap and career decision-making doubts.
