Abstract
At the start of the pandemic, PDGI considered temporarily stopping all forms of dental practice except for emergencies. Even though now the pandemic status has fallen to endemic, ignoring the protocol will be very dangerous, the risk of virus transmission and nosocomial infections that occur in these healthcare facilities can cause a cycle that will never end or can be the start of other disease risk factors such as tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, and so on. Prevention efforts need to be continued so that transmission does not occur to both service providers and patients. This study aims to analyze the implementation of dental practice at the Puskesmas Kartasura, Kab. Sukoharjo during the transition from pandemic status to endemic COVID-19. The research method used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the practice of dentistry changed during this transition period. During the transition period towards endemic status, Puskesmas Kartasura took adaptation steps to ensure the smooth running of dental polyclinic services. Factors influencing the implementation of dental practice during the transition period include changes in the use of PPE, the selection of procedures, sterilization protocols, and supervision of implementation. Suggestions in this study are to pay close attention to the use of PPE in the Puskesmas Kartasura dental polyclinic, to carry out initial screening before entering the health center area, to ensure that dental practitioners understand the importance of Infection Prevention and Control by carrying out supervision and training, to pay attention to how to sterilize instruments, and to move the waiting room no longer in front of the window of the dental polyclinic.
