Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe the fundamental mathematical activities according to the bishop at the Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat and find out the material in mathematics learning that is relevant to the mathematical aspects at the Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat. The subject of this study is the spokesperson for the Surakarta Palace. The object of research from this is the element of mathematical geometry at the Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat related to the shape of the palace building. This data collection method used in this research is through observation, interviews, and literature study. Data The data collection instrument used to dig up valid and in-depth information in this study is using interview guidelines and observation guidelines. The results of the study show that there are (1) Fundamental Mathematical Aspects according to Bishop a) Counting aspects include the length of time the palace was built and the number of palace building complexes b) Locating aspects include determining the location of the palace construction, determining the direction in making the palace, and the shape of the area used for the construction of the palace Surakarta Hadiningrat c) Measuring aspects include stating the size or magnitude, the area of the Palace, special rules for measuring the height of the Palace building, the angle between the pillars and the roof of the building, and the ratio of area d) Designing Aspects include the design or floor plan of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace, how to make ornaments or carvings to be symmetrical, flat shapes found in the Palace, geometric shapes found in the Palace and geometric transformations e) The Playing aspect includes the differences between the Surakarta Palace and the Yogyakarta Palace f) The Explaining aspect includes the meaning contained in the Keraton ornaments. (2) Mathematics learning material about geometry that is relevant at the junior high school level, namely a) the relationship between angles as a result of two parallel lines cut by a transversal line b) Perimeter and area for various types of quadrilaterals (square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram , trapezium, and kite) and triangle c) Pythagorean theorem and Pythagorean triples d) Central angle, circumferential angle, arc length, and area of the sector of a circle, and their relationship e) Surface area and volume of geometric figures (cube, beam, prism, and pyramids), and their combinations f) Geometry transformation g) congruence and congruence between plane shapes.
