Abstract

Language is a means of communication, a medium of thought, a means of literary expression, a means of public communication and becomes a change that gives rise to new events in nation building. In general, people on our planet are fluent in at least one language, and life without language is difficult to understand. Indonesian is an important part of daily communication and is one of the means by which people engage with one another in society. The objectives of this study are 1) to describe the use of interrogative sentences in dialogues, 2) to describe the patterns of interrogative sentences in dialogs that occur on the YouTube channel "Prayer for Mothers Forever" birthday stories, 3) to describe the implications for class X high school material. qualitative descriptive, which uses data collection techniques with observing and recording methods, as well as techniques in analyzing data using the distribution and matching methods, using advanced techniques, namely the referential equivalent method. the results of data analysis taken from various uses of interrogative sentences along with patterns in interrogative sentences show that, the use of interrogative sentences in the dialogue that occurs has its own variations or its own meaning regarding the interrogative sentences that are asked. The benefit of this research is to be able to find out about better views in asking interrogative sentences and being accountable for what has been asked in accordance with the facts.
