Abstract
Students who use Instagram in Indonesia who have positive subjective feelings are able to manage their thoughts and emotions well, thereby creating self-happiness. The research objective was to examine the relationship between self-compassion and self-disclosure with the subjective well-being of college students who use Instagram. The research subjects were 200 college students using Instagram in Indonesia. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling, the characteristics of the subjects used are active undergraduate students in Indonesia and Instagram users. The research method uses correlational quantitative. Methods of data collection using research instruments self-compassion scale, self-disclosure scale and subjective well-being scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear analysis with SPSS version 24.0 for windows. The results showed that self-compassion and self-disclosure showed a positive relationship with the subjective well-being of students using Instagram (R = 0.568). Then it shows a positive relationship between self-compassion and the subjective well-being of students who use Instagram (r = 0.521). Then it shows a positive relationship between self-disclosure and the subjective well-being of students using Instagram (r = 0.499). The contribution of effective self-disclosure and self-compassion to subjective well-being was 32.2%, with depreciation self-compassion contributing 17.9%, while self-disclosure contributed 14.3%. in other words, self-compassion and self-disclosure contribute significantly and can be predictors of subjective well-being, even though the disease is not major because there are still 67.8% of other variables that have more influence on the subjective well-being of college students who use Instagram.
