Abstract
This study aims to describe: (1) The form of grammatical cohesion contained in the short serial discourse of the Kompas newspaper. id September 2022 edition. (2) Describe the relevance of grammatical cohesion in the serial discourse of the September 2022 edition of the Kompas.id newspaper as learning Indonesian. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research in the form of grammatical cohesion in the September 2022 edition of Kompas.id short stories. Data collection techniques are note-taking documentation techniques and literature study. Furthermore, the data analysis technique uses the agih technique with advanced techniques in the form of a vanishing technique. The result of this research is that 98 data of grammatical cohesion forms have been found consisting of first, 86 data references which are divided into 4 forms namely 39 persona I reference data, 17 persona II reference data, 15 persona III reference data, and 15 demonstrative references. Third, there are 7 data conjunctions which are divided into 2 forms consisting of 5 data coordinating conjunctions and 2 data inter-sentence conjunctions. Whereas in this study no ellipsis data were found in short series in the September 2022 edition of Kompas.id. The conclusion found was that the most forms of grammatical cohesion were references and the fewest forms of substitution grammatical cohesion. The results of the research are the relevance of learning Indonesian serpen text with the independent curriculum phase F (generally class XI and XII) on writing elements.
