Abstract
Purwodadi is a city which is the main city of Grobogan Regency and also serves as the capital and center of the regional economy. In addition, Purwodadi is a sub-district in Grobogan Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. By using an alternative route from Semarang via Bojonegoro to Surabaya. With the times that have given rise to more and more innovations in the field of transportation, it has created more and more public interest in owning private vehicles, thereby causing more and more crowded roads. To reduce this, the role of public transportation is very important. In this case, to support the land public transportation route, a base is needed to support the public transportation facility, which is called the Terminal. Redesigning the Purwodadi Terminal and Designing a Public Area that Functions as a Rest Area with an Ecological Architecture Approach aim to create public facilities in the transportation sector. With Purwodadi as an alternative route that connects the northern coast route and the southern route, the presence of the Rest Area is a development of the terminal itself. Through an ecological approach, it is expected to create areas that give rise to a reciprocal relationship between organisms and their environment. The research was conducted using qualitative methods through literature studies, field observations, comparative studies, and analysis. The design uses ecological function parameters which are divided into 4 (four) elements, namely air, water, soil, and fire.
