Abstract
The city of Surakarta, which is also known as Solo, is a city that is rich in cultural and historical diversity. However, the rapid construction of high-rise buildings has led to a lack of green open space, which is very important for recreation and learning, especially for children. The government has issued regulations to manage and preserve green space, and the percentage of green space in the city has increased to 28.87%, but it is still far from the national target of 30%. To overcome this, this study uses the method of literature study, field study and cooperative study, a study proposing the development of Edupark with a Biophilic Architecture approach to increase urban green spaces. This approach can create comfortable and well-equipped outdoor spaces that optimize natural conditions, such as sunlight, fresh air, vegetation and water. In addition, Biophilic Architecture designs can improve physical and mental health by reducing stress levels and increasing productivity. The Edupark concept emphasizes the park's relationship between humans and nature, providing a comfortable and educative space for visitors, especially children.
