Abstract

In the development of education, Indonesia has two curricula, namely the national and international curricula. In the current era of globalization, international standard schools are experiencing rapid development in Indonesia. This is because most people prefer educational services that are considered more advanced, when compared to going to school in institutions with a national curriculum. However, the existing international standard education services are not in line with the increase in the number of births in Solo Baru. Based on the existing issues, it is necessary to construct additional educational service buildings for early childhood with an international level that can support children's development in Solo Baru. In international schools, students are directed to be more active and independent in the teaching and learning process through the applied curriculum and opportunities to develop their creativity outside of the lessons according to their abilities and interests. In this era of globalization and digitalization, children need modern and innovative learning spaces to maximize their potential in facing future challenges. With the application of eco-futuristic design concepts to preschool buildings, it is hoped that this will motivate and encourage children to think creatively and dare to experiment and understand the importance of preserving the environment. The objectives of designing an international preschool with an eco-futuristic concept are (1) to produce a preschool design that fits its function, both from the outer and inner spaces so as to create an optimal space for its users at an international level. (2) Producing an International Preschool design with an eco-futuristic approach. The method used in this design study is a comparative study at kindergartens. Based on the results of a comparative study, it can be concluded that in an effort to create educational buildings that are safe and comfortable for children, it is necessary to apply architectural concepts that are suitable for children's needs.
