Abstract

At this time there is a lot of growth in all sectors, be it services, health and economy which in Indonesia continues to increase in terms of high activity in a neighborhood or area. An environment will be directed by existing resources related to how the environment can survive the problems in the environment itself. The Railway Oriented Development concept is an effort to support residents to reduce high dependence on the use of private vehicles and divert local people to use public transportation such as buses and trains that allow connections to important destinations in a city area. The research method used for this study is qualitative. This research was conducted to describe the concept of Railway Oriented Development in the Gawok Station area. The stages carried out in this research are by collecting data, processing it, observing, documenting and analyzing the data in order to determine which forms should be maintained and developed. Designing and developing Gawok Station as a station that is integrated with other activities and still maintains the original buildings that have their own historical value. In addition, it can also make a solution in overcoming the high density in the area and can optimize the existing land. Gawok Station is not yet equipped with park and ride facilities, bicycle parking, bus stops and pedestrians.
