Abstract

The prevalence (incidence) of the birth of children with autism has increased every year, based on the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control, estimates that the revalence of children with autism spectrum disorder in 2018 will increase by 15% compared to 2014 to 1: 59. This ncrease in the birth of children with autism has not been supported with building facilities in accordance with the standards of the City of Surabaya which has the title as the Main Child Friendly City (KLA) and has the potential to be a disabled friendly city and an inclusive city only having educational facilities for children with autism such as SLB and inclusive schools, there will still not be any facilities built in Many special schools and therapy centers in Surabaya are not in accordance with the standards, especially the Mutiara Hati Center which has incomplete facilities and infrastructure. Based on these problems, the authors propose to redesign the Mutiara Hati Therapy Center and will be relocated with the aim of becoming a healing support facility and information center for people with autism that adapts the characteristics of people with autism with a behavioral architecture approach. The concept applied to designing this therapy center facility is a combination of between behavioral architectural concepts that still pay attention to the standards set by the Government. With the existence of this therapy center facility, it is hoped that people with autism, especially in the city of Surabaya, can carry out therapy activities according to their needs and help accelerate development so that they can socialize and live more normally in the community.
