Abstract

Rice is a plant that is needed by humans, especially in Indonesia. How to care for this plant is not easy, one of which is the water level of rice plants must be maintained in order to produce good quality rice plants. The problem experienced by farmers in the village of Kricak Sragen is that there is no tool to monitor the water level in rice plants so that the quality of rice plants is not optimal. The purpose of this study is to design an IoT-based water level monitoring system for rice fields with a renewable energy power supply to help monitor water levels to improve the quality of rice plants in Kricak village, Sragen. This research is expected to be able to ease the work of farmers in Kricak village, Sragen. In addition to being able to monitor the rice water level, this tool is expected to save electricity bills because this tool will later use PLTS 10 WP as its power supply where this PLTS can supply the device for 24 hours. This PLTS tool is environmentally friendly and its installation is relatively easy and can also last a long time. This research is expected to be able to create a tool that can monitor water levels in rice fields to increase the quality of rice plants in Kricak village, Sragen. The results of this study are good enough that the monitoring tool works in accordance with the wishes of partners and researchers. This tool can also display measurements that are accurate realtime and also in accordance with what is in the field. This tool has a slight weakness in the form of a delay on the sensorultrasonic due to the influence of internet connection speed.
