Abstract

The increasing interest in sports after the pandemic requires people to look for sports venues where not only sports-oriented facilities, but also provide a comfortable atmosphere that can create a comfort and tranquility in that place. The need for sports facilities in Madiun city is no less than other big cities, both children, teenagers, and adults tend to look for sports venues that can accommodate sports activities with indoor or outdoor facilities. But in reality, sports facilities for the community in Madiun City have not been fulfilled. With this statement, it creates an idea to plan and design a sports center in Madiun City by applying biophilic architecture to the design object that provides a real natural presence. The existence of this sports center can be a place for the community for sports activities with a sense of comfort and calm with building standards in accordance with government regulations. The data collection process uses observation, interview, literature study, and interpretation methods. From the results of data processing and data analysis, a concept is obtained in planning a sports center, namely by applying the concept of biophilic architecture to the building.
