Abstract

Sragen Regency is one of the regencies located in Central Java Province which has various potentials to be designed as a source of the country's economy. In order to improve the welfare of the community and increase the income of the village and local government in the Brambang Reservoir, it is necessary to design an area to maximize existing resources and potential. The Brambang Reservoir, which is located in Brambang Village, Kedawung District, Sragen Regency, has great tourism potential but is lacking in management resulting in limited facilities for visitors. Therefore it is necessary to add facilities around the Brambang Reservoir to improve supporting facilities and infrastructure, identify the natural potential that exists in the Brambang Reservoir and examine the concept of ecotourism and its application in the Brambang Reservoir. This design method uses an ecotourism approach that refers to the typology of the Waterfront recreation area which functions as a riverside recreation and tourism area that can provide education to visitors through the role of the surrounding natural environment and humans. This can be realized through an ecotourism approach applied to the design of waterfront recreation areas. By applying the ecotourism approach, it is expected to be able to make the Brambang Reservoir area a recreation area oriented towards buildings, culture and natural balance.
