Abstract

The agricultural sector is a very important economic sector for Indonesia. This sector contributes significantly to the Indonesian economy, both in terms of economic growth and food security. The agricultural sector has contributed around 12.98% of Indonesia's GDP. However, there are several problems faced by the agricultural sector in Indonesia, including dependence on the weather, the lack of technology used, and the lack of access to markets which results in unstable prices. Agriculture is the main industry in Pati Regency. The motto of Pati Regency is "Earth of Mina Tani" which is the goal of the Pati Regency government which wants to advance and prosper the area through agricultural (farmers) and fishery (mina) products. The outskirt area of Pati Regency is one of the areas affected by the conversion of production land. This conversion of agricultural land does not only threaten the existence of farming communities, but also the relationship between humans and nature. The Outskirt Agricultural Center is a solution to revitalize the identity of the Pati suburbs. This institution organizes community and local community activities related to agricultural activities. In addition, the Sub-urban Agricultural Center focuses on closer relations between humans and nature. Therefore, a biophilic architecture approach is taken in the design to solve existing problems and issues. The biophilic design principles applied bring people into a natural atmosphere and represent suburban nature in the design of the Sub-urban Agricultural Center.
