Abstract

Currently, the movement of land transportation modes in Klaten Regency is increasing from year to year, considering that it is located on a regional economic route that connects Indonesia's economic centers, especially its 2 (two) major cities, namely Solo and Yogyakarta. The volume of vehicles passing through the track will increase when the week end and holiday period arrives both to the tourist city of Jogjakarta and to the city of Solo and of course natural water tourism in the city of Klaten, namely Jatinom, Polanharjo, and Tulung. In line with this, infrastructure facilities that are able to support its development are needed. But in fact, this is actually one of the problems being faced by the Klaten Regency government, namely the existence of sub-terminals that are sluggish, including the Penggung Terminal. This situation occurs not without reason. The problems that occur in the Terminal are the reasons behind it, such as the condition of the façade and function of the terminal building is not optimal, the strategic location is inversely proportional to the lack of utilization of the potential that exists in the terminal, and the low intensity of visitors. The method used is to conduct direct observation, interviews, literature studies to find references from a problem statement with the intention of collecting data which is then processed and analyzed into qualitative descriptive data. Based on the results of site evaluation and analysis that has been carried out on the Insurer Terminal, it is necessary to increase the classification status from type C terminal to type B terminal and expand the site to 3 ha to meet existing standards and apply in Indonesia, especially the island of Java. The design process will use a behavioral architecture approach that is considered appropriate considering the problems that existed previously closely related to the behavior of the Terminal user itself.
