Abstract

Resilience has an important role so that a person does not easily sink in the face of all the problems he goes through, this is the basis for the importance of developing resilience in a person. Resilience is influenced by internal factors in the form of self-compassion and external factors in the form of peer support. The purpose of this research was to prove that there is a relationship between self-compassion and peer support with student resilience. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling technique, with the criteria of active students from the 2018-2020 class and aged 20-24 years. The sample in this study amounted to 122 students. The research used a correlational quantitative method with the instruments of the Resilience Scale, the Self Compassion Scale, and the Peer Support Scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis show that the major hypothesis is proven, namely that there is a significant relationship between self-compassion and peer support with resilience. The first minor hypothesis is proven, namely that there is a significant positive relationship between self-compassion and resilience. The second minor hypothesis is proven, namely there is a significant positive relationship between peer support and resilience. The ability of resilience, self-compassion, and peer support shows a high category. Self compassion contributes 40,3% to resilience, while peer support contributes 9,5% to resilience. The remaining 50,2% is influenced by other variables, namely: intelligence, coping style and self-control.
