Abstract
Changes in surface temperature in each area are different this can be influenced by several things such as the duration of irradiation, clouds, wind, troposphere, and vegetation, besides that the topography of a place can affect land temperature. Sidoarjo Regency has an area of 720.74 km² with a topography that has a slope that is dominated by 0 – 8%, so it is called the Delta Plain. The purpose of this study is to determine the dynamics of surface temperature in 2019 – 2022 in Sidoarjo Regency and to find out the relationship between surface temperature and vegetation density. The method used is a quantitative descriptive analysis method by extracting Landsat 8 imagery into Surface Temperature and NDVI, SPSS correlation test, and field accuracy test with 30 sample points. The results of the study show that the average surface temperature in Sidoarjo Regency from 2019 - 2022, which is around 22.05 - 36.47 ºC is dominated by the yellow color on the distribution map which fluctuates every year. The correlation of vegetation density and surface temperature in Sidoarjo Regency gets negative results, which means that it is inversely proportional where high surface temperatures are at very low vegetation densities with the lowest correlation in 2020 with a correlation value of -3.7% and the highest correlation value in 2022 with a value of -29.3%.
