Abstract
As a maritime country, Indonesia certainly has a wider ocean area than its land. As the population increases, the amount of electricity consumption also increases. Although the use of alternative energy is often found, its use cannot be used on a large scale. As a maritime country, of course Indonesia has the potential to develop alternative energy by utilizing sea areas such as sea waves and sea breezes. Therefore, this research discusses the Design and Build of the Linear Generator Prototype as a Sea Wave Power Plant (PLTGL). This prototype has a function as a converter of mechanical energy generated by sea waves into electrical energy which is converted by a Linear Generator. A linear generator is an electronic device whose function is the same as a conventional generator in general, however, in a conventional generator, the generator will receive movement in the form of rotation. In contrast to the linear generator as the name implies, the linear generator will receive linear motion which will be converted into electric power. The test was carried out for 8 consecutive days, namely 7 days for 6 hours starting at 09.00 WIB -15.00 WIB and 1 day for 24 hours. it was found that the output voltage and current of the linear generator ranged from 4.3 – 8.3 V and 0.20 – 120.20 mA. Whereas for energy at 7 days 6 hours it was found at 0.5165972 Wh and at 1 day 24 hours at 1.735136 Wh.
