Abstract

Adjustment is influenced by several things including self-efficacy and social support. This research was conducted to examine the role of self-efficacy and social support with the self-adjustment of students at the Pabelan Islamic Boarding School, Magelang. The research was conducted using a quantitative method involving 162 students of Pabelan Magelang Islamic Boarding School MTs, participants were determined using the Stratified Cluster Random Sampling technique. This study used the instruments of self-adjustment scale, self-efficacy scale, and social support scale. With a validity of 0.6-0.9 and a reliability of 0.70-0.80 and the measuring instrument is proven valid and reliable as a data collection instrument. Data analysis using multiple regression analysis found that there is a role between self-efficacy and social support variables with self-adjustment variables, obtained an F value of 37,663 and a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05) meaning that there is a very significant positive role between self-efficacy and social support with self-adjustment to students. Data analysis also found that there was a relationship between social support and self-adjustment variables, the r value was 3.876 and Sig. (1-tailed) of 0.000 (p <0.05) means that there is a significant positive role between social support and adjustment to students. The effective contribution to the variables of self-efficacy and social support with the variable self-adjustment shows a percentage of 32,1% with a percentage of self-efficacy of 21,3% and social support of 10,8% and 67,9% influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
