Abstract

Due to the changes in post-pandemic conditions, humans must be able to adapt well. Students who enter junior high school from the elementary school level or from an online learning period which is usually done online, where students have to interact with new friends and lack confidence to initiate interaction. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-confidence and parenting styles on post-pandemic junior high school students' social adjustment. This study uses a correlational quantitative research design. The research population was all students of Kartasura 1 Public Middle School, the sample was taken using the cluster random sampling technique, with a total sample of 186 students. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis technique using the IBM SPSS 25 statistic. Based on the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and parenting patterns on social adjustment with an R value = 0.588 and a sig. 0.000. There is a positive and very significant relationship between self-confidence and social adjustment with a value of r = 0.575 and 0.000. There is a positive and very significant relationship between democratic parenting and social adjustment with a value of r = 0.339 and a sig. 0.000. With an effective contribution of 30% of the self-confidence variable, and 4.5% of the democratic parenting style variable with a total of 35% the effect of the self-confidence and decorative parenting variables on social adjustment.
