Abstract

The development of technology and the adoption of online buying and selling through marketplaces have transformed the conventional business paradigm and enhanced the relationship between producers and consumers. However, it is common to encounter damages or defects in the goods received by buyers during delivery. In this context, consumer protection becomes crucial. This study aims to analyze the efforts that customers can undertake to legally protect themselves in cases of damaged goods. Additionally, this research also explores the perspectives and legal arrangements of Shariah economic law regarding the seller's responsibility for defective goods in marketplace deliveries. The research methodology employed a normative legal approach by analyzing relevant legislation and doctrines. The research findings emphasize the importance of businesses fulfilling their obligations in defending consumer rights and preventing losses caused by damaged goods. Consumer protection through consumer protection laws serves as a relevant legal foundation. This study provides further understanding of consumer protection and the seller's responsibility in online transactions through marketplaces.
