Abstract

Brushless direct current (BLDC) motor is an electric motor that has good efficiency, is reliable, has minimal maintenance and is inexpensive. Of the advantages and disadvantages, it is necessary to develop existing electric vehicles. The development is carried out by implementing a different battery utilization method from what was installed in the previous system. Then a DC-DC boost converter is used on a 48V/8Ah battery and a 54V/13Ah battery by increasing the battery voltage to 48VDC – 57VDC and adjusting the output current so that it can be used efficiently on BLDC motors. The use of the DC-DC boost converter affects the rotational speed of the motor, the greater the voltage applied, the faster the motor rotates. The results obtained using the DC-DC boost converter in unmanned motor conditions, on a battery of 47.50V, 0.53A, 25.50W and boosted to 50.39V, 0.40A, 20.15W. Whereas in the condition of the ECRC car the battery is 48.70V, 1.41A, 68.66W and boosted to 50.06V, 0.42A, 21.02W. Continuous and automatic monitoring is needed to see the performance of the electric motor to anticipate damage. This research was made to utilize the battery and monitor the output of the BLDC motor directly and observe it from near and far (monitoring). The media used for monitoring will be the Blynk application which is connected to the NodeMCU ESP8266 via the internet network. The information loaded in the Blynk application comes from a hardware suite which contains the NodeMCU ESP8266 as a microcontroller and wifi module, the PZEM-004T module as a voltage and current sensor, the E18-D80NK Module as a speed sensor on a BLDC motor. From monitoring the BLDC motor, the results were obtained on an unmanned motor with an input source of 50.39V and an output of 37V, 0.68A, cos phi 0.84, rpm 415, 36.92W, 0.62Nm, 0.05HP, and an efficiency of 73, 74%. While the ECRC car obtained the results of an input source of 50.43V and produced an output of 25.3V, 7.82A, cos phi 0.86, rpm 325, 294.93W, 6.39Nm, 0.39HP, and an efficiency of 73.83%.
