Abstract

This study aims to the struggle Against Gender Inequality in Herbie Fully Loaded movie and explore the gender inequality in Herbie Fully Loaded movie. The focus of this research is how Meggie Peyton against gender inequality. This research used a feminism social theory by Showalter and Wolf. In analyzing the type of gender inequality, the researcher applied Fakih’s theory. This research is used data sources from movie and collects journals related to this movie. The method used in this study using qualitative methods. The result showed that Meggie fight to get gender equality and the same rights like other men by speaking to her father and prove to anyone that she can be a racer. Gender inequality is identified, namely stereotype, marginalization, and subordination. Gender inequality in the Herbie Fully Loaded movie is reflected by theme, plot, character, setting, point of view and moral lesson. Keywords: Gender inequality, Feminist, Herbie Fully Loaded
