Abstract

Unemployment is one of the economic problems in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the direction and magnitude of the influence of the average length of schooling, life expectancy, per capita income and the number of people of productive age on the unemployment rate in Indonesia in 2017-2021. The types and sources of data in this study are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistic Agency (BPS). The analytical method used is panel data regression analysis with the selected model estimation Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the variable F test the average length of schooling, life expectancy, per capita income and the population of productive age simultaneously have an effect on the unemployment rate in Indonesia. The results of the analysis in the t-statistical significance test show that the average length of schooling have a positive significance of the response rate of Indonesia, while income per capita is negatively related to the response rate. Meanwhile, the variables of life expectancy and the number of productive age population did not have a significant influence on the reaction rate in Indonesia.
