Abstract

Land or territory is the main element of a country. For the people of Indonesia, which is a country that is regarded as an agrarian nation or even an archipelago, land has a very important position within the framework of organizers and a place for human life. In other matters, for the state and its development, land is also the basic foundation for implementing state life within the credibility design of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and for carrying out the overall welfare of the people. Because of this position, ownership, ownership, utilization or use of land is guaranteed legal protection from the government. This study aims to find out the legal basis for the authority of the Klaten District Land Office in resolving land disputes, and understand how to resolve land disputes by means of mediation by the Klaten District Land Office in accordance with existing laws and regulations. This type of research uses a descriptive method. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative normative method and sources of literature studies from secondary legal materials. The results of the research found that the form and content of the agreement are in accordance with the applicable provisions and/or laws and regulations. Then in the settlement of land disputes, accurate data is needed and the need for awareness of each dispute to mediate.
