Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between self-esteem and students' prosocial behavior at SMK Wikarya Karanganyar. The sample in this study were 80 students of SMK Wikarya Karanganyar who were taken by means of stratified random sampling. Data was collected using a scale. Data analysis using Product Moment correlation analysis. Product moment correlation analysis results show a correlation coefficient of r = 0.393 and p = 0.000. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between self-esteem and students' prosocial behavior at SMK Wikarya Karanganyar. The category of prosocial behavior is high, while self-esteem is in the high category. The effective contribution of self-esteem to prosocial behavior is 13.2%, while the remaining 86.8% is influenced by other variables, such as biological factors, membership in groups or cultures, socialization experiences, cognitive processes, emotional responsiveness, personality and personality, situation and situational environment.
