Abstract
Background: The number of online game players in Indonesia in 2021 engaged in electronic sports (ESport) will reach 52 million. Musculoskeletal complaints can becaused by several risk factors, one of which is bad posture, repetitive movements and long durations. Playing online games for a long time and bad posture can cause musculoskeletal disorders. Purpose: Purpose of the study were to determine whether there is a relationship between the duration of playing online games and musculoskeletal disorders in e-sport players from the ONIC Jakarta Team. Method: This research uses quantitative analytic research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were ONIC Team players with a total of 60 players out of 97 players who matched using consecutive sampling and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Result: This study used the chi-square test with a p-value of 0.023 <0.05 which can be concluded that there is a relationship between the duration of playing online games and musculoskeletal disorders in e-sport players from the ONIC Team in Jakarta.
