Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are formal educational institutions based on religiosity with students or students who live in them. In Islamic boarding schools, students are faced with a number of rules that must be obeyed and different from schools in general, this is a lesson to shape individuals into individuals who have superior character in the fields of intelligence, personality, religion and are able to control themselves. The learning process of the students at Islamic boarding schools is not only about their memorization abilities, but also about how these individuals can manage their learning process through rules and achievements. With this the students learn through the SRL method (Self Regulated learning). Self Regulated Learning ieimportant personality process by which a person seeks to exercise control over his thoughts, feelings, impulses, desires, and performance. Goals that refer to metacognition and active behavior in independent learning. This study aims to understand and describe how the experienceself regulated learning to students who memorize the Qur'an at the Muhammadiyah Islamic boarding school Zaenab Masykur Tegal. Subjects were selected through a purposive sampling technique, namely the selection of subjects according to certain criteria set by the researcher. The criteria for this study were: (a) class VII Islamic boarding school students Zaenab Masykur, (b) have memorized 1 juz of the Qur'an. The results of this study indicate that the six informants haveself-regulated learning in memorizing the Al-Quran is marked from the informant's activities in memorizing the Al-Qur'an that is appropriate to the aspectsself regulated learning starting from aspects of metacognition, motivation and active participation behavior. The six informants can set goals, organize, monitor and evaluate their processes in achieving the goal of memorizing the Qur'an.
