Abstract
The development of infrastructure in the world of construction is so rapid, as well as the criteria for concrete needed. In this study, choosing high quality concrete because construction requires a lot of high quality concrete for various infrastructure developments. This study used a research method with a mix design of SNI 03-6468-2000 with a design compressive strength of 50 MPa with a cylindrical specimen with a diameter of 150 mm and a height of 300 mm. In this study using a coarse aggregate size of 12,5 mm aims to determine the effect of aggregate size on compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, permeability, and the required cement requirements. Concrete constituents such as coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, cement, water, superplasticizer and fly ash have been checked and meet the requirements. This study obtained a compressive strength of 50.22 MPa which meets the initial design compressive strength. The calculation value of the elastic modulus is 22437 MPa and the calculation of interpolation with a value of 21968 MPa with ACI correction of 30492 MPa. The split tensile strength value is 5.84 MPa. The penetration value is 8 mm and the coefficient value is 1.2195E-06 m/s. The use of cement on an aggregate size of 12,5 mm is 374.82 kg less than the maximum size of 20 mm and 40 mm aggregate which is 383.28 kg and 394.14 kg. Research on high quality concrete with a maximum coarse aggregate size of 12,5 mm has results that are in accordance with the strength of the initial plan and in the permeability test it has an average coefficient value that is small compared to the aggregate size of 20 mm and 40 mm, so this size is very good for use for concrete high quality.
