Abstract

UD Setyo Nugroho is an UKM that sells various kinds of agricultural products, one of which is turmeric which is sold in the form of dry pieces or whole that has been washed clean from the ground. Dried chopped turmeric is obtained through a cutting process with a turmeric cutting machine before being dried in the sun. The idea is to analyze work safety risks using the Job Safety Analysis method because when using a turmeric grinding machine there are hazards that may occur in the turmeric milling area and anticipate work accidents in the turmeric milling work process such as the hand being hit by a cutting knife, the vanbelt breaking then hitting the operator's body, foreign objects flying off the blade or damaging the blade, unequal cut sizes, and other hazards. Based on research that has been done using the Job Safety Analysis Worksheet on the 6 steps of the turmeric milling work process, it was found that there are 2 high risk categories, 5 moderate risk categories, and 3 low risk categories. Recommendations or proposed improvements that can be made to overcome or avoid the risk of work accidents at UD Setyo Nugroho are recommendations for engineering control, administrative control and PPE or Personal Protective Equipment.
