Abstract

One of the facilities for students of SMK Negeri 1 to obtain information is the library. It is accomplished through the availability of services for students to borrow and return books. Currently, the library uses the manual method for that service, writing in a main book of borrow and return books management. While using the manual method of data collection, the data may be poorly documented and ineffective. The researcher's research goal is to create a computerized information system that can improve the quality of library services by facilitating library data management so that data management becomes faster, more accurate, and data can be presented in real time. The QR Code is intended to be the primary source of information from books retrieved from the primary key data, which will then be read using a barcode scanner linked to the system. The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with a waterfall model is used in the design of a library management system, with the PHP Laravel 8.83.26 framework and bootstrap framework, PHP version 7.4.28, MySQL for database, Chrome and Mozilla Firefox for web applications server, and Visual Studio Code Software in compiling the system code. Testing of the library data management system is carried out by officers using the blackbox testing method to find out the purpose of the system and the features made are appropriate and the system is running well. In addition, testing is carried out by users who show that the system is in accordance with the purpose of making the system. Based on the overall test, it was concluded that the system succeeded in making it easier for officers to manage library data such as data collection, adding transaction data and recording reports.
