Population immobility in slum settlements is a binding force that can keep residents from choosing to leave the slum. The city of Surakarta has several areas related to population immobility, one of which is in Pasar Kliwon District, specifically in Sangkrah Village. Immobility of the population occurs because of several binding factors, including Location Bonds, Social Bonds, Economic Bonds, and Family Bonds. According to research data from 100 respondents who have been determined from RW 10,11,12 and 13, there are 62 respondents who chose to stay, 30 were uncertain, and 8 wanted to move. The method used is a survey with a questionnaire interview and field observation, and documentation. The analysis method used is a frequency table analysis and a quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate (1) the physical characteristics of the slum settlement such as narrow roads, unkempt building conditions, and poor drainage (2) the social and economic characteristics of the households' income per month, the results are similar between the variables above UMK Solo and below UMK Kota Solo, only have a difference of 3%, for the majority of individual income is still below UMK Solo. (3) The most influential bond of residents' immobility in the slum settlement of Losari-Demangan Sangkrah is social bond, the variable from social bond that becomes the reason for residents to stay is the harmony among the citizens, so the citizens feel very comfortable living there and decide to stay for a long time despite the unkempt and slum physical condition of the settlement. The research results on residents' immobility in the slum settlement of Losari-Demangan Sangkrah are expected to provide information about the study of slum settlements and become a reference source for other research on the topic of residents' immobility in slum settlements.
