Abstract

The existence of UMKM is not only to increase income but is also useful for equal distribution of income, this factor has caused many small businesses to emerge. The continuity of a business requires a strategy that can be used as a tool to achieve goals in its development, therefore the factors that affect the survival of MSMEs such as location, distance, infrastructure and accessibility need to be analyzed. This research aims to: 1). know the characteristics of SMEs, 2). know the distribution patterns that affect the sustainability of SMEs and 3). identify factors that influence the sustainability of MSMEs in Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency. The population of this research is SMEs in Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency in 2022, which total 1058 units, 106 research samples were taken by random sampling. The data collection technique of this research is by interview, questionnaire and observation. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis using percentage indexes and frequency tables. The results of this study indicate: 1). The characteristics of MSMEs in the Colomadu sub-district include the criteria for micro-enterprises, namely 71.70%, the types of businesses they are involved in include groceries, home-produced food and beverage shops. 2). The distribution pattern of MSMEs in Colomadu sub-district tends to be even. Factors that influence the distribution of MSMEs in the Colomadu sub-district are: Location factors, distance or proximity to public facilities, ease of accessibility between consumers and MSMEs and infrastructure
