Abstract
Age-associated psychosocial changes are strongly tied to the weaknesses, restrictions, and difficulties that older people typically encounter in daily life. Anxiety in the elderly is a physical and psychological condition that can elevate high blood pressure many times. An individual will face a setback in independence and day-to-day activities as a result of this concern. When a person's systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels are persistently above 140 and 90 mmHg, respectively, that individual is said to have hypertension. Co-morbidities, on the other hand, are complaints from patients with conditions other than hypertension. The reason of this observe into to explain the level of anxiety and activity-related day by day living in elderly persons with concomitant hypertension. The research approach used was descriptive quantitative approach. This study employed total sampling, which involves taking the same number of samples as there were people in the population. The number of respondents have been 56 respondents and used the HARS and Barthel Index questionnaires, each of which had 14 and 10 questions. This study found that while 11 (19,6%) elderly adults with concomitant hypertension did not suffer anxiety, 36 people did with mild anxiety making up 64.3% of cases, moderate anxiety making up 7 people (12.5%) of cases, and severe anxiety making up 2 people (3.6%) of cases. According to the findings, when it comes to activities of daily living, 33 people (58.9%) had mild dependency, 20 people (35.7%) had no dependence, 1 person (1.8%) had strong dependence, and 2 people (3.6%) had severe dependence. Meanwhile, at the Kartasura Health Center in Sukoharjo, diabetes mellitus is the comorbidity that affects older patients with hypertension the most frequently. It is suggested that this research be expanded upon using more factors.
