Abstract

Sexual assault is nothing new, but it has gained attention recently. There have been multiple instances of sexual violence in the city of Surakarta. Due to government restrictions on activities, many of the challenges faced by victims in reporting their cases and the Covid-19 pandemic made their position worse. In the absence of handling because of comprehension, sexual violence continues to be a problem. The victim's position is open to intimidation and is not legally protected. During the inquiry process, it is unclear how the victim's right to protection and proper rehabilitation would be put into practice. As a result, the public starts to put pressure on investigators to protect the victim from what happened and the effects it had on her. The protection of citizens' fundamental rights in all spheres, including their defense against discrimination and violence, is one of the objectives of protection. The goal of protection is to support victims through the judicial procedure and in coping with their suffering. Islam is a religion that vehemently condemns all acts of aggression committed against living things. In Islam, protection takes the form of upholding rights, improving the victim's situation, and punishing the offender. This investigation used a juridical-empirical methodology.
