Abstract

This study aims to describe acts of vandalism from the criminal law enforcement process in the Sukoharjo Regency area, the obstacles faced by law enforcers, and viewed from an Islamic perspective (maqashid syaria'ah). Vandalism is an act of destroying and polluting the environment, usually carried out by a group of teenagers and adults. The motive that is carried out is just the existence of a nickname for both individual and group interests. This research method is descriptive using an approach from an empirical juridical perspective. Methods of data collection using library research and field studies by conducting observations and interviews with sources from law enforcement officials, perpetrators of vandalism, and victims of vandalism. The data analysis method uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method, namely by analyzing, interpreting, describing and interpreting the results of oral or written data according to their classification with the aim of drawing conclusions. Conclusion is done by deductive method. Based on the author's research, in terms of enforcing criminal law, law enforcement has not implemented applicable sanctions and prioritizes persuasive efforts, then there are obstacles from law enforcement, both from law enforcement factors, infrastructure factors, and community factors, in maqashid syari'ah vandalism enters karah hifdz mal (maintaining property) because it involves property that is damaged or polluted causing losses. Based on the research, the researchers suggest increasing the number of law enforcement personnel so that in carrying out operations it can cover all areas of Sukoharjo Regency and law enforcement agencies, the government and the community synergize and work together in enforcing criminal law against perpetrators of vandalism.
