Abstract

Green open space is an area that not only functions as a place to grow plants but more than that green open space can also be used as a means of recreation, education, and various other activities. The need for green open space is getting higher from time to time along with the rapid development that occurs in urban areas, city parks are one form of response to the provision of green open space. Brebes sub-district as one of the busiest areas and in the area of the northern coast line should have adequate green open space, but in reality there are still very few green areas or green open spaces in the city of Brebes. Based on data from the General Development Service of Brebes Regency, in 2015 there were only 10 green open areas with an area that was still below the requirement. With the design of a city park as a green open space with an ecological architectural approach it is hoped that it can reduce the shortage of green open spaces in Brebes District, this design also aims to create a place for social, economic, educational community activities around the design location. The concept of design uses an ecological architectural approach. The concept of an ecological architectural approach chosen aims to create urban sustainability and protect nature from rapid development and bring people's lives closer to nature. The result of the design is a green open space area in the form of a city park and equipped with various facilities to accommodate recreational, economic, educational and other supporting activities by prioritizing the application of ecological architecture. The materials used prioritize materials from nature and materials that are commonly used by the local community such as bamboo, red brick, wood, and so on.
