Abstract
Human life is always colored and decorated with various desires and goals. One of these desires or goals is to be happy. This happiness seems to be a hope or a desired goal in human life in general, this can be seen through the reality which shows that a person always tries to achieve happiness in his life. The ups and downs of the business he is doing is just a hope to achieve the happiness he longs for. When we examine the Al-Qur'an which is full of life instructions, we find that all the teachings contained in it lead humans to happiness in life in this world and in the hereafter. Everything is served comfortably and simply. It has a great influence on the personality, family, society and country of a Muslim. So don't be surprised when a Muslim practices religious teachings with full piety, in fact he has reached the peak of happiness that no other person can reach. Aristotle's nikomakea ethics and Buya Hamka's tasir al-Azhar are two relevant points to be used as a reference to review the concept of happiness from the perspective of the two figures. Researchers hope that this research can deepen the discussion around the concept of happiness both academically and practically. To understand the concept of happiness from the perspective of Nicomakea ethics and the interpretation of al-Azhar, this research uses a descriptive-analytic method. In this case the meaning of happiness according to Aristotle is something that has its own value, not because of another higher value. Something valuable in itself, according to Aristotle, is virtue or goodness. So the only way to be happy is to do good or do good. Because doing good makes us feel comfortable or at ease. Meanwhile, Buya Hamka interprets happiness as a condition in which a person is able to accept everything that happens in his life by being grateful. Because, with gratitude life will be calm.
