Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze how the protection of children as consumers of television on infotainment shows. Infotainment is one of the a type of language development that later became a popular term for news light entertainment or informational entertainment. Children in particular are as a consumer watching infotainment shows. There should be protection towards children can also be used as a solution for the limited broadcasts infotainment that airs on television. The aim is to know that these laws and regulations can protect children or cannot protect children in terms of being consumers of television programs in infotainment shows. The conclusion is that of the 4 (four) infotainment shows, there are 3 (three) infotainment shows which still contain elements of slander, incitement, misleading and/or lying, elements of frightening/horror, elements of violence, and elements of ridicule or demeaning.
