Abstract

Tirtomoyo Sub-district has a geographical condition that is classified as an area prone to natural disasters and espescially landslides. It is noted that the natural disaster of land landslides is included in the annual natural disaster that often occurs in Tirtomoyo District. This study aims to analyze the potential for land landslides in Tirtomoyo District and the distribution of mitigation for landslides in Tirtomoyo District. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods in data processing and completed with field survey to get data. The potential for landslides is generated from the results of scoring and also from overlays using secondary data. The findings revealed three classes or classifications of disaster-prone areas in Tirtomoyo District, with eight of the 14 villages included in the classification of high level of vulnerability to landslides. Based on the level of vulnerability to landslides, disaster mitigation has been attempted in every village in Tirtomoyo District, such as the formation of villages, the construction of natural embankments, and the installation of an early warning system (EWS). However, the mitigation implemented is deemed inadequate given the high risk of landslides without no further action in structural mitigation in the vulnerable location.
