Abstract

The social phenomenon of reporting on cases of bullying with child victims has become a topic in the media. The intensity of reporting on bullying cases is one of the main ones that has an impact on the audience. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of exposure to news of bullying cases on the anxiety of parents at SD Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta. The research method used is quantitative. Collecting data using a questionnaire using the google form tool. The population of this study were parents of SD Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta with the slovin formula (ɑ: 0.1) obtained a sample of 75 people. The data analysis technique used in this study uses simple linear regression analysis using the SPSS application. The results showed that there was an effect of exposure to news of bullying cases on parental anxiety. This is evidenced by the large value of sig(2-failed) obtained at (0.000 0.050), then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, which means that there is an effect of 39,5% on exposure to news of bullying cases on parental anxiety.
