Abstract

Al-Qur'an..has mentioned as many as 32 verses about the sea, ocean, beach, estuary, and various things related to the sea. It's amazing, that the Qur'an talks a lot..about the sea even though this holy book was revealed..in the..desert area, there is not even a single narration that mentions a verse that was revealed in the middle of the ocean. Meeting two seas that do not merge with each other is one of the miracles that has been described in the Qur'an long before researchers even knew that there was such an ocean on this earth. Interestingly, the ocean was only discovered at this time and the two seas could not merge and mix. The Qur'an has explained it in Qs. Al-Furqon (25): 53 namely that the two seas are 2 different waters, one salty and the other fresh. In this study, we will focus more on the discussion of the ocean in the book of Tafsir 'Ilmi, namely the Book of Tafsir of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia which is a book of special interpretations of scientific verses. This research uses a qualitative type of research, by using a type of library research or library research. The method used is a descriptive method, namely by describing and describing in a gambling or transparent manner the object to be studied. From the results of this study, it was found that there were verses that explained the phenomenon of the meeting of the two seas as well as similarities and evidence that the Qur'an and science were very compatible and did not contradict each other.
