Abstract
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) or often known as heart failure is one of the non-communicable diseases as the number one cause of death every year. Heart failure does not appear by itself accompanied by co-morbidities such as respiratory disorders, kidney dysfunction, anemia, sleep disorders, depression, and arthritis. The cause of sleep disturbances in patients with heart failure is hypersomnia during the day or having trouble sleeping at night. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the description of sleep disorders in heart failure patients at UNS Surakarta General Hospital. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive analysis research methods, namely to summarize, classify, and present data. The sample in this study were patients with heart failure who underwent outpatient treatment at the Outpatient Installation of RSU UNS Surakarta as many as 100 respondents. The sampling technique used Accidental Sampling. While the research instruments related to function were obtained through the ESS (Epworth Sleepines Scale), MBQ (Modified Berlin Quetionaire) questionnaire, Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). The results of the data obtained by respondents who fall into the DMS category are 64,9%, respondents who fall into the EDS category are 27.8%, respondents who fall into the SDB category are 8.3%. So it can be said that patients who do outpatients at the Outpatient Installation of RSU UNS Surakarta mainly fall into the DMS (Difficulties maintaining sleep) category.
