Abstract
The problems of developing Bangkok chicken in Jemawan Village, Jatinom District, Klaten Regency include small business scale, slow growth, high mortality, high ration costs, traditional maintenance, inappropriate application of biosecurity and inappropriate use of technology for Bangkok Chicken, it is necessary to empower farmer groups - existing livestock. This study aims to determine the form of Household Economic Behavior of Bangkok Chicken Breeders in Jemawan Village. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection methods in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The technique for checking or measuring the level of credibility of this study uses diligent observation that focuses on the issues discussed and carried out to understand more deeply the research problem. The object of this research is the household economic behavior of bangkok chicken farmers in Jemawan Village, Jatinom District, Klaten Regency. The subjects of this study were bangkok chicken farmers who joined UP2K (Family Income Improvement Business). The primary data used in this study is data obtained from the results of interviews conducted with each informant. Secondary data is data obtained from observation and documentation. The results showed that the household economic behavior of Bangkok Chicken Farmers in Jemawan Village refers to the management of Bangkok chicken farmers' economic activities such as the amount of income, the amount of consumption and production produced from Bangkok chicken livestock. The income of bangkok chicken farmers is analyzed from the amount of income received in each harvest and is used to meet household needs according to the number of family members covered. In general, the management of bangkok chicken business in Jemawan Village still uses the traditional system and the output produced is in the form of meat and eggs, thereby increasing the income of the breeder. The conclusion of this study is that the productive age of bangkok chicken breeders is very supportive in managing the bangkok chicken farming business because it requires strong physical abilities and good thinking. Good physical and thinking abilities in bangkok chicken farmers consist of experience and knowledge so that they can influence farmer decision making and have an impact on income generation in the bangkok chicken business. The income gain of bangkok chicken business is commercially oriented and requires a more detailed business analysis plan, so as to get optimal profits.
