Abstract

Violence in the school environment is a picture of the world of education that has existed for a long time. Many cases of school violence were born due to a lack of supervision and attention from various parties. Violence that appears in the school environment is the responsibility of all parties. Violence in schools shows how much teenagers have emotional levels that are still unstable. Violence committed in adolescence is basically just a desire to show the identity that is within him. This study aims to determine and understand the representation of violence in the school environment contained in the Total Chaos film. This research uses interpretive qualitative research, using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis approach which is a way or method to analyze and examine a sign and everything related to it. This study obtained the results by concluding that several scenes in the Total Chaos film showed violent values. The values of violence in question include: (1) Masculinity in love, (2) Resistance to power, (3) Information and decision making.
