Abstract
Pipelines that carry fluid from a reservoir cannot be separated from energy or pressure losses (headloss) due to friction. Headloss in the pipeline system can be calculated using the Darcy-Weisbach equation or the Hazen-Williams equation whose value can affect the fluid discharge. Calculation of a good fluid flow design makes the need for clean water in a place such as a hospital can be fulfilled. The need for clean water in hospitals is influenced by the number of beds available. This pipe flow simulation has the aim of knowing the difference between the difference in discharge and the energy loss equation of Darcy-Weisbach and Hazen-Williams which is then adjusted to the water demand in the hospital. In this study, AW type PVC pipes were used and focused on pipelines from the reservoir to the first section of pipe entering the building which was reviewed with a branch pipe network system. Analysis of calculations using add-ins solver in Microsoft Excel application program. The results of the discharge simulation analysis using the Darcy-Weisbach energy loss equation using the Bar formula friction coefficient and the Hazen-Williams energy loss equation using the coefficient of CHW = 150 m0,370211/sec, the difference is obtained in Pipe1-2 = 0.4774%, Pipe3 = 0.4774 % , Pipe4 = 0.5834 % , Pipe5 = 0.3089 % , Pipe6 = 0.3089 %. It is concluded that the difference between the two calculation methods is very small and can be used for analysis of fluid discharge in pipes. But the Hazen-Williams energy loss equation is limited to a predetermined value of the CHW coefficient. So the Darcy-Weisbach equation using the coefficient of friction Bar formula has better results for use in calculating fluid flow through pipes.
