Abstract

Land use change is a process of change that starts from previous land use to the latest land use that can be fixed or temporary and creates a logical influence from the growth and transformation of changes in the socioeconomic structure of the population that is on the rise for both commercial and industrial purposes. Polokarto Subdistrict is the dominant area with agricultural land with 44% of the area being in the form of agricultural land use but there have been significant changes due to its strategic location so it is necessary to map land use changes in Polokarto District. The purpose of this study is to analyze the persistence of land use change in Polokarto District and find out the prominent factors in land use change in Polokarto District. The research method used is survey and analysis of secondary data of primary and secondary data. The data preparation technique by utilizing GIS technology was then used the overlay method using the land use map in 2009 and in 2019 it produced an analysis using descriptive methods and factors that influenced land function change in Polokarto District. The change in land use from 2009 to 2019 was dominated by a decrease in the type of rice field use which decreased by 974 ha. Land use change in Polokarto District is dominated by paddy land use which has changed by 47% and then there is a settlement land use that has changed by 22%. Polokarto Village became a village with a total of 236 ha of changes. This is because the land in a dry area so that unproductive paddy fields turn land into fields and moorings and only rely on rainwater as a source of irrigation so that it is no longer productive to be used as agriculture. The pattern of distribution of changes in industrial and trade land use, plantations, rice fields, settlements, fields and moorings and waters from 2009 to 2019 shows the results that the pattern of distribution of land use change is classified as a clustering or Clustered pattern obtained from the results through the Average Nearest Neighbor method
